Adam and Victoria
Adam and Victoria Garnade took over The Black Horse Inn in late December 2015.
Adam is a classically trained chef and has worked throughout the UK and Europe. He’s delighted to return to his roots, running a country pub with his wife, Victoria.
Victoria is passionate about history, tradition and hospitality – the pub’s offering reflects this. Together with their small but perfectly formed team (including their two children) the couple are very proud to be the Landlord and Lady of The Black Horse Inn.
Adam and Victoria see The Black Horse Inn in Donington on Bain as not only being an integral part of local community life, but also as a welcoming place for people who are visiting this beautiful part of the country.
For Locals, Visitors and Explorers
The Black Horse isn’t just a business – it’s part of the village. Whether you’re popping in for a pint after work, gathering with mates for a celebration, or exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds and need a base to rest, you’ll always be welcome here.
Our regulars are the soul of the place. But we’ve also welcomed cyclists, bikers, walkers, families, campers, and curious explorers from all over the UK and beyond. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Built on Tradition
We’ve got one foot firmly in tradition and the other always looking ahead.
Seasonal menus and daily specials
Locally brewed ales and ciders
Sustainable, thoughtful sourcing
Inclusive hospitality for all ages and most dietary needs
Supporting local events, clubs, and causes
This isn’t a chain. It’s a pub with character, community, and a proper sense of place.
Come as You Are
We know how rare it is these days to find somewhere that still feels like a proper pub.
No gimmicks. No fuss. Just good food, a decent drink, and people who genuinely care.
If that sounds like your sort of place, we’d love to see you soon.
